FACILITIES

Our beautiful  ACROSPORTS facility is located south of Houston in the Clear Lake area. The complex is situated on 2 acres, approximately ½ mile west of I-45 near the corner of FM 528 and West NASA Blvd., at the entrance to The Challenger Park.  Our new 20,000 square foot facility with a 23' building center height is a state-of-the art complex for gymnastics and tumbling. Completed in May 2001, the facility consists of 2 separate gyms, 2 complete dance rooms, a large ground level glass enclosed parent observation area, pro shop and offices. Major areas are separately monitored with 58 tons of heating and air conditioning for our students and parents comfort.

Each of the gyms, one for preschool gymnastics, the other for academy gymnastics and tumbling, are completely equipped with multiple sets of Olympic gymnastics apparatus and a Tumble Trak for rapid learning of tumbling. Additionally, 2 special safety features are built into each gym. The first safety feature in each gym is the 6-foot deep in-ground free foam pit. The pits are invaluable in learning new skills since the 8-inch multi-colored foam cubes absorb impact particularly well. The second unique safety feature is our complement of 4 in-ground trampolines. Because of the risk of falls from ordinary above ground trampolines, we have recessed our full-sized trampolines so that they are flush with the floor and padded on all sides. This prevents our students from falling off the trampoline while enjoying the many benefits of trampoline training.

The preschool gym has a 42' x 72' x 2" carpet and foam floor, while the academy gym features a regulation 42' x 42' competition spring floor as well as a 12' x 84' x 2" carpet and foam floor.   The academy gym also contains a complete set of men’s gymnastics apparatus.  For added style, our athletes can observe and perfect their form using the 40 feet of mirrored wall in each gym.  Literally dozens of training/spotting aides, suspended ropes and rings are also located in each gym.

Our 2 dance rooms are completely mirrored for the dancers to use in perfecting their form. The main dance room is 30' x 50', and of course has a wood floor. The ensemble dance room is 20' x 25', and has a special imported vinyl dance floor.

Finally, for parents and siblings to observe classes, we provide a huge, glass enclosed, handicap accessible observation area. Since we have 2 gyms, half of the rows of comfortable seating face one gym and half face the other gym, so you are always close to the front! The parent area floor, foyer and all bathrooms are covered in ceramic tile like an upscale home. Creature comforts for our guests include a television, snack and drink machines, a unisex bathroom with baby changing table, boy's bathroom and girl's bathroom with changing room. At ACROSPORTS , we very much value and encourage parent participation in the observation of their child's activities, so we try very hard to make their time in our facility as comfortable as possible.
